Frequently Asked Questions:

  • Consultation: To start, we will have a 15 minute free consultation call to see if we are a good fit to work together.

Intake: If we both decide to move forward we will conduct an intake session with just the parents/guardians. Here we will discuss what brings you and your child to therapy, background information, and goals for therapy.

Child Therapy Sessions: After the intake we will schedule weekly or bi weekly in person sessions for child therapy sessions.

Parent Sessions: Pending on multiple factors we will determine the frequency of parent guidance sessions.

  • Children learn through playing, and that is why we PLAY during therapy. I have an array of toys, sensory activities, and a fan favorite (slime and kinetic sand), all of which are used during therapy. While your child is playing they are learning about feelings, coping strategies, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and more.

  • When working with children it is so important to always include the parents and guardians. Think of your therapist as a member of your team. That is why I hold parenting sessions every 2-6 weeks pending on various factors such as home stressors, diagnosis, etc. I also encourage family sessions when the client is ready for them, and always update parents on how sessions go each week.

  • I have extensive experience working with children and adolescents and their families. I have worked with children diagnosed with ADHD, Anxiety, OCD, ODD, Depression, family and peer conflicts, Adjustment Disorders related to changes in environments like parent’s divorces, behavioral challenges, peer issues and school behavior problems.

  • All therapy sessions are confidential. As your child is the identified client they need to understand and feel that therapy is a safe space for them to share and express themselves without worrying who else might hear about it. However, I take the common themes and relay them to parents. Of course if there are concerns regarding safety, those are always shared.

  • I am an out of network (OON) provider. I do not accept insurance, but I will check your OON benefits via your insurance, and if possible bill your insurance directly through your OON benefits. If that is not possible, I will do complimentary billing, which means I will submit your super bill receipts on your behalf to make the potential reimbursement process easier for you.

  • Child therapy sessions - $200

    Parent Guidance Sessions - $200

    Case Consultation/Management - $50 per half hour

  • Of course! I am also happy to communicate with school professionals as much as needed, whether that is teachers or school psych professionals. I will attend PPT meetings as requested and provide information from a psychological perspective as agreed upon with you before the meeting takes place.
